Rapid-Set Polyurethane™ Adhesive

Clean Surface

• • Surfaces must be clean and free from oil, grease, dust, excessive water, ice, or any other material that may interfere with proper adhesion.
  • ON METAL SURFACES – Remove scale, rust, or other coatings to expose a bright clean surface.
  • ON CONCRETE, STONE, OR OTHER MASONRY SURFACES – Expose a sounds surface free of contamination and laitance.
  • ON WOOD SURFACES – The surface must be clean and sound. Scrape away paint to bare wood.

Attach to Cartridge Gun

• • Cut tip on slant for 1/4˝ to 3/8˝ bead. Puncture inner seal with nail or wire and place in cartridge gun.

Apply Adhesive

• • Using caulking gun, apply the adhesive to one of the surfaces in a continuous bead.

Press and Twist

• • Press surfaces together firmly with a slight twisting motion.

Coverage

• • Coverage: 1/4″ Bead: 10 oz. 32 ft, 28 oz. 89 ft
  • Coverage: 3/8″ Bead: 10 oz. 14 ft, 28 oz. 35 ft

CLEANUP AND STORAGE

• •  Clean uncured adhesive with mineral spirits
  • Dispose of contents/container to hazardous or special wast collection point.
  • 12 month self life
  • Store in a cool, dry place in upright position out of direct sunlight and where it will not not freeze or be damaged by low temperatures

CURE TIME

• Cure time varies with temperature, humidity, and the porosity of the materials joined.
• • 60 – 90 minute firm set
  • 24 – 48 hour full cure
  • 15 minute working time

USER TIPS

• • When using on non-porous materials like foam, metal, etc. apply a light mist of water during application to speed curing. 
  • Cure times vary depending on humidity, porosity, temperature, and materials bonded together. Typical set-up time is 60-90 minutes. 

  • APPLICATION TEMPS: For ease of extraction, working temperature should be between 45 – 90°F. Above 90°F (32°C), use additional supports for 24 hours. Below 60ºF (15ºC), product may be difficult to extrude.

  • PRIMING: Rapid-Set bonds well to most substrates; however, it is the user’s responsibility to check the adhesion of the cured adhesive on specific substrates.

  • Wearing gloves during application is highly recommended. Once material has cured it cannot be removed.

  • Not for continuous submersion or use below the waterline. 
  • Not intended for direct contact with flames or fire brick.
