We recommend SB2 or SB3 General Landscape Fabric as the ideal product for use in this application. The material has a high water flow rate and equally high permittivity. Spunbond is often used for French Drain applications.
Spundbond is a great general landscaping fabric with high strength and water flow. It is used over drain fields, in French Drains, around plants, and under hardscaping. This fabric does not fray when cut.
Landscape fabric is a material placed around trees, flowers, or shrubs to stop weeds and promote plant growth without chemicals. It blocks sunlight so weeds can’t grow, but it’s also permeable, so air and moisture can nourish your plants. Industry professionals have used it for years, and now it’s growing in popularity among home gardens and landscapers.

We recommend using SB2 or SB3 as they provide the highest water flow rate and are ideally suited for a French drain.
