EC8™ Heavy Duty Erosion Control Fabric

EC8™ is a superior quality, non-woven geotextile comprised of polypropylene staple fibers in a random network to form a high strength dimensionally stable fabric. The polypropylene are specially formulated to resist ultraviolet light deterioration, and not effected by commonly encountered soil chemicals. The fabric will not rot or mildew, is non-biodegradable.

EC8™ Heavy Duty Erosion Control Fabric Instructions

  1. Prepare Area

    Remove all rocks and heavy roots from the desired area before laying down fabric.

  2. Place Fabric

    Unroll fabric and cut to desired length. Overlap each section 18-24 inches. Secure fabric with SRW Fabric Staples, staggering 1.2 staples per square yard.

  3. Cover Fabric

    Completely cover with landscape aggregate or stone to protect fabric from sunlight and to enhance the appearance of the project.

It can be used in every area of landscaping, whether its separation, stabilization, water flow or reinforcement.

A few examples of where non-woven fabrics can be used:

  • EC8 – Rip Wrap along stream banks
  • NW6 – Separation layer between the soil and a geomembrane
  • NW4 – Separation layer behind retaining walls as well as fieldstone retaining walls. It can also be used for everyday landscaping.
