UltraLok Paver Rail
Our UltraLok Paver Rail™ is an injection-molded edge restraint, designed to provide a strong and stable connection between pieces. Reinforced gussets and spike holes provide unmatched strength and durability. Made of 100% recycled HDPE with added UV resistance. The UltraLok™ footprint allows for proper drainage and encourages root development along the edge of the project. It can be easily used for both straight and curved areas.

UltraLok™ Instructions
- BASE PREPARATION: Follow the paver manufacturer’s recommended guidelines for surface preparation. The thickness of the aggregate base will vary with subgrade conditions, traffic load/usage, moisture expectations, climate (colder climates may experience freeze-thaw), and other factors. Commercial or industrial installations should be fully engineered and installed by a professional. The minimum compacted aggregate base extension should equal the base thickness. Doing this maintains an adequate shoulder to support the edging. Here are some general guidelines:

Base course aggregate should be minimum 3/4” minus crushed aggregate.
UltraLok™ has a three-point interlocking connection secured with a spike. UltraLok Paver Rail™ can be installed before or after pavers are laid. Always install edging directly on the base layer, never on the bedding sand. To connect pieces, place the female end over the male end studs and press together, then drive the spike through the spike hole to secure and complete the interlocking connection. If going around a curve, cut cross members and install a spike in every hole until the curve is complete. For commercial or vehicular projects, use spikes for every other hole.
Installing before pavers: Place UltraLok™ on top of uniformly compacted graded gravel base per pavement design and secure edging with 10″/12″ smooth or spiral landscape spikes.
Installing after pavers: Use a hand trowel or flat-blade shovel to carefully pull back screeded bedding sand from the edging area. Place UltraLok™ firmly against the pavers and secure the edging with 10″/12″ smooth or spiral landscape spikes.
FASTENING: Holding the edging firmly against the side of the pavers, tap the spike in part way to accommodate edging adjustment if needed. When finished adjusting, pound the spikes down tight to the edging. Secure the edging with spikes every 12-18″ apart or every hole on curves. For commercial or vehicular projects, use spikes every other hole. Once secure, backfill with the desired material to cover the edging completely.
